A two-day course following the RYA Stage 1 Syllabus on August 11th, 12th
A basic understanding of boat sailing, with some experience in steering and handling the boat
Assumed Knowledge None
Course Content Launching and recovery, steering, parts of the boat, basic sailing
Ability after course Able to steer and understand basic principles
Note that this course is only open to sailing members (Junior or Family). A parent or guardian must be present on-site for the duration of the course. For members of an affiliated group please get in touch with Tony on training@greatmoor.org.uk to discuss options.

The RYA Youth Sailing Scheme provides an enjoyable and progressive way to learn to sail. Each certified course provides an opportunity to record and recognise your achievements in this logbook on a dedicated log and certificate pages.

Introducing you to sailing with all you need to know to get afloat under supervision.

Course Content How to sail in all directions, including an awareness of launching and recovering
