RYA First Aid Course
In a medical emergency, a little first aid knowledge and immediate action can save lives, especially in remote locations.
This RYA one-day course is designed to provide a working knowledge of first aid for people using small craft.
It is aimed at anyone who goes afloat, whether on inland waters, rivers, estuaries or on cross-channel passages.
It fulfils the requirements for our RYA instructors and safety boat operators
The content is the same as the the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations, 1981 for the purposes of Emergency First Aid at Work, (so you can use this if it is needed for your work), but there is additional content, specific to the marine environment (so not all First Aid at Work qualifications can be used instead of this one, for our purposes).
Details can be found in the course Syllabus
Please be aware there is some practical work on the course which will involve kneeling to demonstrate chest compressions and rescue breaths on a resus doll.
Course fee includes RYA First Aid Manual
