Club Membership Regulations
The general rules of the club are listed below and are supported by the information found on our website
These are in place to ensure the safety of all members, so please adhere to them (as you have signed up to them as part of your membership application or renewal....)
Members can confirm their membership by showing their digital membership card when legitimately requested by a club official or other member.
Great Moor Sailing Club Membership Regulations
1. Eligibility
- Membership is open to anyone interested in sailing and / or other water-based activities.
- Applications are reviewed by the Committee.
- By joining, members agree to follow the club's constitution, regulations, safety policies and rules.
2. Membership Types
- Full Membership: Access to all facilities and activities, voting rights, and eligibility for committee roles.
- Options: Family, Couple, Individual, Student / Young Adult
- Limited Memberships: Access as defined by category, no voting rights, but may join sub-committees.
- Examples: Fishing, Social, Junior
3. Fees
- Fees are set annually and must be paid in full.
- Late payment may result in suspending of membership and equipment being placed in quarantine.
- No refunds are offered for membership or berthing fees.
4. Conduct
- Always show respect to fellow members, volunteers and visitors.
- Safety rules must always be followed and appropriate equipment used
- Members should seek to minimise the impact of pursuing their activity on other members using the site
- U18 members must be overseen by an adult at all times while on site
- Guests must be signed in, supervised, and remain the responsibility of the hosting member throughout their time on site.
- Alcohol or substance misuse on site is prohibited.
- Full Members agree to carry out duties, and all members will support club activities when required.
5. Facilities
- Facilities and equipment are for use of members and their guests only.
- Hire of equipment or campsite must be booked and paid for in advance.
- Members are responsible for proper use of craft and equipment and must report damage promptly.
6. Craft Use on Grebe Lake (Full Members only)
- Only permitted non-powered craft may be used on Grebe Lake.
- All craft must be declared on your membership with a photo
- Any craft going onto the lake must be, insured, and be 'seaworthy'.
- Craft stored on site and associated trailers must display identity discs.
- Unmarked or unpaid craft may be quarantined until issues are resolved.
7. Discipline
- Breaches of these regulations may result in warnings, suspension, or termination without refund.
- The Committee will act fairly and appropriately in deciding the outcome of issues.
8. Amendments
- These regulations may be updated by the Committee.
- Constitutional changes require AGM/EGM approval.
- Members are notified of changes (usually by email) and are deemed to have accepted them by continuing to use the club.
