Safety Boat Crew Development Programme

A practical, on the water session aimed at our Safety boat Crew, with a view to developing their skills so they can progress and become a Safety Boat driver

Aim of the Day-

• To familiarise you with the Safety 1 Console boat and build confidence driving it, e.g. Holding Off and MoB practise.
• To familiarise you with the safety kit on board, throw lines, first aid, cradle etc plus basic radio usage
• Time permitting - practise mark laying, dinghy righting, recovery and use of the MoB rescue cradle.

There are two sessions, one in the morning and one in the afternoon and a maximum of four people can sign up for each session. You should select only one session.

The outcome of attending one of these sessions will be one of the following:-

1. recommendation to become a Safety Driver (by attending a safety boat course to be run later this year)
2. or a personal training plan to develop your skills (with access to Club Powerboats on a Sunday for practice)
